a pair of lobstered steel gauntlets
EXAMINE:
These gauntlets are made of smooth steel, patiently brushed and polished to a worn matte grey. The craftsmanship of the gauntlets is clearly the work of a master smith: the scales of steel that form the protection for the bearer's fingers are forged together so that they overlap when forming a closed fist and, smoothly slide into each other when relaxing the grip. This movement offers the wearer both excellent protection and significant flexibility. An old, mostly faded inscription can be seen just below the joint at the wrist, where the gauntlet's design allows it to be connected to a pair of vambraces. The markings are now mostly unreadable, although there is something that may be a stylized symbol involving an 'A', and some runes depicting two crossed swords and a shield.
